I'd made the decision after so many years renting that it was time to buy my own place. The whole process has been daunting. Looking at houses, speaking with Agents, Conveyancers and the bank! There's so much paperwork to fill in as well! When my Conveyancer mentioned that I will also need a Pest and Building Inspection done I was gobsmacked thinking it was just another form I'd have to fill out and pay money for. I was almost not going to do it, but spoke to a few friends about it and they all agreed it was money worth spending. A couple of them had use Mal previously and said he was very good at his job so I booked online. He carried out the inspection within a few days and emailed out my reports the following day. I was amazed at how much detail was in the reports and honestly, he covered things I didn't even realise would be included. There were a few minor issues with the property which were easy enough to fix but a drainage issue caught my attention. After speaking on the phone with Mal, I approached the Real Estate agent with the problem and he then spoke to the vendors. It was great to be able to use the reports to back me up and have the problem fixed. I'm so glad I had the inspections done - it has actually worked in my favour. If you're buying a house - get Mal to do the inspections!
