I felt like an idiot paying for a pest and building inspection on a brick strata unit that looked in great condition. I'm lucky I did because Mal found numerous major defects which would have cost a lot to fix, and would have taken a lot of mucking around with strata. Mal provided me with a really easy to read report with pictures that was sent that next day after the inspection. I'll def be using him again. Definitely worth the price for a really detailed report.

I am extremely happy with pre handover inspection that Mal carried for my investment property. As this if my first investment property and not knowing much about things to look out for before handover, i wanted to go for a professional building inspector. So after reading google reviews of Mal I decided to engage him for the inspection. First of all he took time out of his super busy schedule to fit in my inspection just before Christmas ( huge thanks there as no one would really care in busy schedule specially just before Christmas). Mal did an awesome job being so friendly and professional at the same time. He assured me in everyway and made me feel confident going to the inspection with him. As Mal mentioned he has been a builder himself in the past , he picked every single defect in the property which no way I would have been able to pick myself as owner of the newly built house. Not only was he was super professional and full of knowledge, he helped me all the way to fight getting a driveway re-poured as it was a major defect according to Mal and Australian construction standards. There goes my house value up by $20,000 by having a brand new driveway. I just cannot thank Mal enough for his professional services provided. Mal inspected our new build in Cliftleigh. He attended at the same time as our final walkthrough with our site supervisor. He conducted his inspection separate to ours and picked up on a couple of things that both us and our supervisor missed. The pictures in the report were very helpful, they gave us a better understanding of some of the defects, partnered with the thorough description. We had the report delivered to our email on the next business day, which we were able to forward on to our site supervisor to address the additional issues that Mal picked up. This fast turn around allowed us to get some of the issues looked at before handover. Thanks for squeezing us in Mal.

I always knew that when it was time to finally take the plunge and buy a house, that I was going to rely on the best building and pest inspector I could find. And that's why I decided to choose Mal Wright Pest and Building Inspectionswas competitively priced and had good reviews, but I poured over his website and felt confidnet from the moment he responded to my initial email that he was a good operator and knew his business . His attention to detail was as advertised and I was very pleased at how responsive he was in communicating with me. Mal performed a combined building and pest inspection for me, including Meth swabs, and additional requests including inspecting a number of outbuildings, conducting a roof space investigation, and also to identify if specified pests that I am allergic to were present in the house. I also had the pleasure of going out on site and got to discuss my plans for my new home and watch Mal in action. He sure as hell worked for my dollar. He was covered in mud and grime and spiderwebs, and a great big smile and he truly was pedantic in identifying any and all minor and major issues with the property. What should have been a 1.5 hour inspection took far longer and he did it without complaint, making sure to really investigate all the areas needed. In sweltering heat and after normal business hours, Mal kept going until he ticked everything off my list. As Mal's inspection took quite a bit longer than anticipated, he was very upfront that my report would also be delayed by a day on the basis of the detail he wanted to put in the report, and I was happy to wait. I was very happy to get his comprehensive report on the issues the property I was looking at had. While I had elected not to make my purchase contract conditional on the report, utilising an extended cooling off period instead, I was content that I understood what the issues were and had some good ideas on what to do about it, so I went into the sale eyes wide open ( which was great because there were issues , and some things that had not been done correctly by the vendor/ builder that would need to be rectified soon), and I was reassured as to the value and condition of the property thanks to Mal's report and thoroughness. I would not hesitate to recommend Mal to anyone else seeking a buliding or pest inspection. I know that I will certainly use him again should I need his services again and endorse his skills and product as both value for money, and a smart investment in your future peace of mind.

We recently used Mal to do our pre-purchase Pest And Building inspections and included the Meth testing service Mal provides. We were gobsmacked when the tests came back with a positive contamination of the dwelling. Further tests showed the house had been used for recreational use and the contamination was above the acceptable levels. Quotations came back for a decontamination clean of $8000 and $6000 to re-paint the interior. This was helpful information where we decided not to proceed with the purchase and we will use Mal Wright Pest and Building Inspections again soon when we find a suitable property.
