I had phoned Mal Wright to book in a Pest and Building Inspection on the recommendation from a friend who just raved about him. He was booked out for 4 days in advance but I was happy to wait since he was so highly recommended. Mal’s office must have called the Real Estate agent not long after I spoke with them because the agent phoned me. He told me that I needed to have the inspections done straight away as there were other interested buyers and that the reports that had been supplied should have been sufficient. Well, I wasn’t happy with the agent’s attitude so I told him I was happy to wait to use Mal. I had read the other reports but our conveyancer agreed that because they weren’t in our names they weren’t legally ‘our’ documents.
Mal gave me a call as soon as he’d finished the inspection just to quickly go over a couple of things I needed to be aware of. He emailed the full reports out the following day. They were fabulous. They covered every aspect of the property. He even picked up on little things like the garden tap out the front having no support. Much more detailed than the other reports I had seen.
We did go ahead and purchase the property although the real estate agent wasn’t happy we went back and negotiated the price with the report in hand.
I too would highly recommend Mal Wright Pest and Building Inspections. If you want someone who is thorough and does the right thing by the purchaser (not the agent or vendor) then he’s your man.
