I was looking at purchasing a property in Raymond Terrace. The Real Estate agent had informed me that there had been termite damage to the property around 5 years ago, but it was isolated to one area in the house and had all been fixed and treated, so there wouldn’t be any issues. I was a little hesitant so got straight onto Google to see who was experienced in Pest and Building Inspections and would be the best person for the job. It took a few phone calls and questions but I eventually got onto Mal Wright with his Thermal Imaging Camera. I discussed my concerns with him about the house & termites and he explained how his camera worked. I really liked the house so booked Mal in to do the pre-purchase inspections.
Mal gave me a call after he had finished the inspection to give me a quick rundown of what he had come across. There were no live termites, but the damage had been a lot more extensive than I had been led to believe. So I was left with a huge decision to make whether I was going ahead with the purchase or not. And if I went ahead I would be making a much lower offer than I had been thinking.
Mal’s expertise in this area was awesome as if I had just gone ahead and bought the property with the information given to me, I would have been thousands of dollars behind. He has very helpful, informative and I would definitely use his company again.
